Give your tiles the durability of our waterproofing membrane system
A waterproofing membrane is a thin, impermeable layer of material that is applied over a surface. This membrane forms a continuous barrier, preventing water from permeating through. For instance, in the case of a flat terrace, a waterproofing membrane can be installed above the structural slab but beneath the final layer of tiles. This installation ensures that water does not infiltrate the structural slab. To direct water properly, the tiles and membrane are placed over a filler material with a slope, allowing water to flow towards sumps and drains. Accumulated puddles on the tiles should be avoided, as they can lead to water seeping into the slab over time.
Remedian Fixx Links draws upon more than 25 years of experience working with a wide variety of waterproof membranes and sealants. We tailor our waterproofing solutions for your specific needs and property. We offer two types of waterproofing membranes based on the requirements of the structure.
SHEET BASED WATERPROOFING MEMBRANES
Just as the name suggests, sheet-based membranes are delivered to the site in the form of rolls. These rolls are then unfolded and applied to a stable surface. One of the most prevalent varieties of sheet-based membranes is the bituminous waterproofing membrane. To affix this type of membrane to the substrate, a hot tar-based adhesive is used, which is heated and applied using blowtorches.
LIQUID APPLIED WATERPROOFING MEMBRANES
Liquid applied membranes are delivered to the site in a liquid state and are subsequently either sprayed or applied with brushes onto the surface. They are typically regarded as superior to sheet-based membranes due to their joint-free nature.
